| Les has been very involved with The Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM) that takes place each year in the area between Washington, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Les McQuire was Program Co-Chair for MARM 2005 and organized Royal Society of Chemistry events at MARM 2005, 2007 and 2008 and NERM 2008. The ACS hosts 8-10 Regional Meetings each year. These meetings are mini national meetings with parallel sessions, social events, vendors etc. tailored to the interests of the chemists in the area. Learn more about Regional Meetings |
| Les was a member of the Regional Activities Coordination Team (ReACT) and an ad hoc working group which prepared extensive guides and documentation to help transfer information between Regions and from one meeting to the next. Ultimately successful Regional Meetings are a collaboration between the Local Section and other scientific groups in their area. The Regional Boards help develop partnerships which strengthen meetings and our society over time. |
