encourage industrial members to participate in ACS Governance and in the
last two years has participated in efforts on ConC and with the
Senior
Chemists to work to establishing a new National Committee to encourage
and support activities and participation of
Senior Chemists.
At the Fall 2008 National Meeting the members of ConC elected Les as
their chair for 2009.
Les is working with ConC and ACS staff to implement an improvement to the process used at
the Fall meeting of ConC in the

simplifying the actually mechanism of filling committee positions.  Learn more about the various
ACS committees and their roles.
In addition to his experience and contributions as a member of ConC, Les has the dedication,
experience and vision to be an effective leader for the American Chemical Society.
ConC is also working to review and implement some of the ideas that come out of the Action
