| The Local section Activities Committee (LSAC) works with local sections to enhance their success, to promote the well-being of their members, to foster the spirit of volunteerism, and to carry out the mission of the American Chemical Society at the professional and community level. I served on LSAC from 1999 to 2006. |

| LSAC has four sub-committees. I Chaired the "Future Local Sections and Leaders" from 2001 to 2004 and the "Alliances" sub-committee in 2005 and 2006. I was also the Co-chair of the joint LSAC/DAC sub-committee on Local Section - Division interactions. |
