A Working Councilor, Working For You
While most of my ACS activities directly relate to activities for North
Jersey members as a Councilor I have responsibilities for outreach to
the community and at the National level.
At National Meetings I
have regularly taken
part in sessions
designed to help
students get more out
of the meeting and the
ACS as well as helping
with their career
planning.

Undergraduate Students
National Meetings are also an opportunity for councilors from our area to
get together and discuss issues of common interest and concern.

I also Chaired the "Chemistry of Systems Biology" Presidential Theme for the
Boston Meeting (Fall 2007)

North Jersey is part of the Middle Atlantic caucus and this group meets at
every National Meeting.

The Executive Committee of the North Jersey Section meets monthly to help
coordinate and plan Section activities.  Many of these meetings involve
discussion of important issues but some such as the celebration of the 75th
Anniversary, below, are less serious.  During my year as Chair, in 1999, I
chaired the Executive Committee.
