ACS/RSC/IUPAC Meeting
Feedback from the Attendees
The organizing Team wanted to know what the attendees felt about the
meeting and identify topics and volunteers for future events

A survey was distributed and attendees were encouraged to return it
There was even a prize drawing using the returned forms

Approximately 82 people returned the forms.  THANK-YOU!

People loved the location, talks and the academic/industrial mix
(all scored > 4.5 out of 5)

26 people (out of 80 responders) expressed an interest in helping to
organize a future event (scores of 4 or 5)

The catering and meeting room were rated well (3.9 out of 5),
a higher screen was the main suggestion

Given the success of the meeting and the list of attendees and vendors
any future event could be in a larger room with a higher ceiling
This would also minimize the noise from outside the room and from
people going in and out

93% of people completing the survey said they would attend future
NESACS events

Work place e-mails were key to the publicity drive
86% of responders had received a work place e-mail

ACS Divisions were very well represented at the symposium

Based on the response rate over 100 members of each of ORGN and
MEDI attended the symposium

44 members of the Division of Medicinal Chemistry completed the survey
43 members of the Division of Organic Chemistry completed the survey

10% of the attendees were members of the Royal Society of Chemistry
(RSC)
